Turtle Movies
There are several movies of loggerhead turtles and leatherback turtles on YouTube from the coast and outer banks of NC. The link below goes to our school wiki with the embeded movies. If you are at school, the movies are blocked because they are on YouTube, but you can view them from home, the public library, or other internet places. Both of these movies are rated "G" for families. :-)

Preparing for the Trip
Our fourth grade students leave (soon after spring break) for a trip to the NC outer banks! Yippee! They will visit many historic sites, climb lighthouse steps, and see first hand some of our famous historic locations. The students who are unable to attend will be communicating with the students on the field trip using Google Moderator. We will ask questions back and forth and learn from each other. Also, the students who are unable to attend will be using the web links on this page and lots of new books to keep up with the travelers. We will have some CPS (handhelds) questions to challenge our memories of what we have learned.
Adding another note here - added "Videos" to our Google Apps for Education so our 4th graders can have their teachers upload the videos of the coastal plains and outer banks each day. The students at school can view the videos and the cameras will be ready to use again the next day on the trip - technology is efficient, communicates meaning, and is fun! Who says we can't have fun at school!
